Brain function is crucial to everything we do and is now more than ever a rising concern. From brain fog being experienced across all age groups to the rising trends in people losing memory at younger ages each year, people are seeking support with this vital organ that consumes the majority of the bodies energy and the most sensitive to a lack in nutrients. It is important to remember the huge shift in the way we produce, purchase and consume food, is having a ripple effect on how well we consume key nutritional compounds for cognitive health, such as polyphenols.
Christie will discuss how the specific nutritional compounds such as polyphenols, referenced in the SACN report on diet, cognitive impairment and dementia, are something we should all be supplementing for neurological health.
Christie shares the research behind the formulation within elénzia Enhance that has been built around a unique polyphenol blend that has a research trail of over 14 years, and the key clinical trials published that support the efficacy on how each ingredient is strongly suggested to improve the ability to sustain attention, focus, and memory and learning capabilities.

ULU was founded last year in Cheltenham by former Formula 1 boss Paul Hembery to create a range of CBD products, designed to help de-stress people with hectic schedules. CBD is just the first step in a long-term series of global initiatives from ULU to promote positivity and wellbeing in our everyday lives.

Add into that the demands of international travel and endless days away from home that characterises the top level of grand prix racing, and it's easy to see how many people in that environment were rapidly heading for burnout.
Through Paul’s own travel and research in California, ULU was born last year: which as its core ethos brings premium quality and applied medical science to the world of CBD. Not only that, but there’s a strong social message – as ULU is backing a number of global cultural and sporting initiatives designed to help people unlock their maximum potential. Nootropics: How to optimise brain function with Philip Beard
Tuesday Jun 01, 2021
Tuesday Jun 01, 2021
The brain is crucial to everything we do and brain function is a common concern, whether it is loss of function, development, or optimisation. However, with people looking to manage increasingly busy lives, there’s been a renewed shift towards improving mental performance.
Nootropics can claim to improve cognitive functions such as short and long-term memory and processing and concentration. With the complex nature of the brain, the need for a constant supply of energy and nutrients to support key functions, such as neuronal plasticity and the clearance of metabolic waste are vital. In this talk Phil discusses the impact of nootropics and ingredients that can support enhanced concentration, attention and memory.
Synthetic nootropics are commonly available, and the expectation might be that all nootropics contain artificially created chemicals. However, there are some effective natural ingredients with excellent supporting clinical evidence. Phil shares the research behind these and discusses the formulation of Viridian’s new Natural ‘Nootropic’, Peak Focus that has been developed to aid enhanced concentration.
Speaker Bio:
Phil Beard is a Technical Educator at Viridian Nutrition. He is well versed in identifying key stressors and the best way to adapt diet for specific conditions. Phil has been with Viridian for three years and prior to this, worked for the NHS on the Diabetes Prevention programme.
Phil is passionate about nutrition and wants to find ways of making nutrition simple and show how we can all make strives to supporting our long term health, through eating mindfully and understanding how powerful proper nutrition can be, not only improving our own health but to support a healthcare system that sees so many preventable health conditions being treated daily.
